I propose to create an EPK (see press pack research page) in the form of a video. For this i will be working as a duo with Luke Frediani. We plan on creating our video based on narration queued by questions in text with original music playing throughout the video. We will also be using our live lounge performance as an example of what we sound like live.

Video

To make the video a bit more interesting, I plan to film a walk through the local woods- glancing at any landmarks or anything that looks interesting in a way. This footage with then be slowed down and will have simple visual effects added to it such as a change in colour, tone or maybe focus. The fore-mentioned landmarks and features within the video will become the queues for the questions in text; the walking in-between these landmarks being the space for answers – thus the need for speeding/slowing footage to fit the length of the answer/s.

Information

I will be presenting the information in the form of a dialogue and text. This will be done mostly with questions and answers, a reading/ display of a biography and text. I will be including information such as:

• Band/ act name
• Links to any media, websites, social media and other outlets that may be useful
• A list of band members and their roles
• A bio of the band, describing our style of music, successes to date and future plans
• Examples of previous material
• Reviews from others
• Link to bookings list and upcoming events
• Contact information

A USP (unique selling point) will be achieved by making the video show each of mine and Luke’s personalities by narrating the video ourselves.

Live lounge

The live lounge element in this video will feature as an example of live performance and our USP with artistic personality. It will likely either be the last feature in the video so as to not clash with the background music and thus make editing the video more realistic for my skill level, or it will be placed late-mid way through the video to break up the text a bit and save the viewer from getting bored of just reading.

Availability and audience

I hope to make this EPK cater to a wide spectrum of possible needs and uses. In order to do this I will need to consider information that is valid for labels, agents, promoters, venues – anyone who needs to understand the act and our music. The video will be uploaded to a site of its own, mine and Luke’s websites, and youtube in order to be widely accessible and easy to find.
